About the Choir

The Choir was founded in 1961, and in 2011 celebrated its 50th anniversary in a joint concert with Bolton Chamber Orchestra.

The choir has maintained a reputation for vigorous, stylish performances, attention to detail and imaginative programme planning. A high standard of musicianship and commitment is demanded of the members, as the choir gives around five concerts per year, some of unaccompanied music and others shared with instrumentalists

Occasionally the singers join with other groups for larger events.

The group is committed to a wide and challenging repertoire of music, ranging from the sixteenth century to the present day.

This is a note to say how much I enjoyed your concert last night at the Triangle. It was  an imaginative, eclectic programme and very professionally delivered - spot on singing and timekeeping. These events never happen without a lot of hard work and crises behind the scenes. Thank you for a delightful evening in a splendid setting.

There was some wonderful quiet singing, but a good forte when necessary, and some very sensitive singing too, with lovely dynamic contrasts.

Yet again a fantastic event.

Will you please pass on our sincere thanks to both choirs for their excellent performance

I just wanted to say that I attended last night's New Year Opera Gala and thank you for a wonderful evening of amazing music. Every element was professionally performed but also had passion and enjoyment from the instrumentalists and singers.
